I have a question about my 700 srx. it has an 02 motor with 02 gauge and instrument clusters. The tack moves back and fourth at idle + or - 100 RPMS but still runs great. idles at 1500 RPM i have cleaned my carbs new rings. is it possible i have a leak on the carb boots, i have checked the crank seals and no difference so i know thats not the problem.

Thank you very much sled.
much appreciated. i will clean the pilot jets one of them may be clogged slightly. not too worried about it just annoying. Im flying in from guam in february for the munising ride like i mentioned i just want to make sure this thing is running pristine BTW what do i need to do to be a VIP? ive been a member of this great web site for a while. Thanks again Tom

open up your fuel screws 1/4 turn and that will improve the lean spot, it will idle better and will have a little better snap when you crack the throttle.

If you are really worried about carb boot leaks, try this. Spray a starting fluid around the boots while idling. If rpms go up you have a leak. But I would suspect fuel screws need tweeking like yamaholic22 suggests.

thanks everybody. i will try that. i need to take the carbs off anyways to re-jet for sea level riding cause im haulin my sled back to northern michigan this summer. i have 145 mains in it right now. i will take the fuel screws out 1/4 turn. i think it will be fine

i dont have a scanner. i can mail you a pic of my expired drivers license. it a michigan liscense i havnt been home in a long time to renew it
