I just fried the drive shaft splines on my 1994 yamaha v-max 600, and found that yamaha does nto offer the parts anymore. Now I am looking to buy a newer XT/XTC/SX/SXR 600-700 in the buffalo / rochester NY area. I would rather have a 600, and don't want to spend too much since I am in college. If anyone out there has something for sale, reply or leave me a message.
Thanks!
Thanks!

My brother is selling his 97 SX 700. Its in very good condition with Ohlin shocks, plastic skeis, maximum performance rear suspension with 2600 miles. The motor is very crisp. He is asking $2550.

Explain the part you fried. The drive shaft that holds the front cogs to drive the track is the same on a 94 as it is on a 2001. You can still get the parts. The drive shaft is about $85.00. More if you need all the drivers but don't let your dealer tell you that you can't get the parts you need. The axle part number for the 94 is 8AB-W4751-00-00 for a 01' it's 8CR-W4751-01-00 (I pulled it from a 2001 Vmax 600 Deluxe). Here is a 2004 600 Deluxe 8EK-W4751-00-00 I am telling you Yamaha saves a TON of money using parts year after year. It's great for you and me because it's makes getting parts easy. Doug
