I have a 2" stock track on my MM700 02..... Track profile is too steep for the riding I generally do.... Some bush trail breaking and mostly ungroomed trail riding.....

Need to know what is the best tool/ technique to cut this track down to a 11/4" or 11/2" profile.... I refuse to spend the money for a new track, so this is the only option I have presently....

Does anyone reccomend 1.25 over 1.5 or vise versa?....

Any help is appreciated..

TJ...

I have the exact sled, i removed .5" from the stock track and it was awesome, in all conditions, I then removed another .25" to see if I could get more speed, but I never, and lost all my traction, 1.25" is too short in my opinion for this sled, dont' cut it down to more then 1.5" so take 1/2" off,

Hey MountainMax...

What did you use to cut it down, and will a 1.5" track be able to bring up enough snow and lubrication for the sliders?....There is a concern with 2" profile not getting enough lube to the sliders...

Thanks...Parts haven't yet arrived...hoping by tomorrow...

The shorter the lugs the easier snow can get to the sliders, especially on hard packed trails, instead of them being 2" higher then the snow, they are lower down to get at it easier. I just used a multipupose knift to cut my track down using a small guide I layed on the side of each lug.
