Roadstar question

I recently purchased a 2005 Roadstar and want to get a larger rear tire. Does anyone know the largest tire I can put on without modifying the fender or anything?

probably gonna haveto measure your current clearance. be careful though, not all manufactueres measure tiresthe same way (got caught once)

Tire size goes like this. 180/50-17 should measure 180mm wide and 50mm tall. Now if you went to a 190/50-17 the tire will grow the 10mm wide, but the "normal" street use part is only a few mm more at best. Now for the fun part. A 180/60-17 is wider by a couple mm and taller by 10+mm than a 180/50-17 The tire on the star is not the size mentioned, but remember that Yamaha chose the tire size for a reason. It worked best for the normal rider in all conditions.
