honda demo ride

did a honda demo ride today at rl equipment in verner (honda and yamy dealer)

i just wish i had been able to attend the yami one they had on mothers day. woulda been nice to compare the bikes; instead spent day doing laminate floor for mom so i wouldnt be disowned.

i favor xt style bikes (enduros) so i was alittle dissapointed they didnt have one of ther 650 enduros there for people to try. so i settled for a cbr600r since my sister is looking at buying this style ofbike.

over all i really liked the bike, good acceleration and braking. nice handling in the corners and enough punch on the straights to keep the guyson the 1000cc bikes in sight when they punched it. effortless at 140khp with lots of throttle left (i admit it i chickened out at goin faster).

only flaw i noticed was a slight buzzing noise upon slight decel that went away as soon as you got back into the fuel.

would i buy one? id have to say no as my back was killin me after a 45 min test ride. i prefer a more upright riding position. i tried laying down on the tank but was uncomfortabe cause my molson muscle is a tad underdevloped for this position.

hopped back on my xt and drove home feelin much better ;)! . i was the only nut there on an enduro. now ifi could just get my xt350 to pull like it is supposed to.............

well i was at another test ride on saturday. it was sunny out ant the xt still wasnt fellin up to par so i went and burned the suzuki dealers gas.

it was a little disappointing the number and type of bikes there. only had 2 sport bikes and the larger one was only a 900. in total they only had about 8 bikes for this demo ride. heck, even the suzuki sales rep didnt show up.

the bike i test rode was a 650 Bandit whitch is classed as a street/sport bike. all in all not a bad little bike. it has a more upright riding position and is more for the daily commuters/weekend riders.

the bike handles well in the corners and has decent punch coming off of the lights. it was almost effortless for me to toss this bike into the corners. the more upright riding position was a big plus in my case as my back was still sore from the above test ride. i got off this bike feeling pretty much the same as i got on it. the only real beef i have with it ia that you have to hold the clutch in to start the bike every time. #$%&*

the big disappointment on this ride though was the ride leader wouldn't open up the bike he was riding so we could strech out the bikes and feel the upper end acceleration. we mostly poked along at or juuuuuussssssttttt above the speed limit. :o|

would i buy one............... i be lyin if i said i wasn't tempted. with the prices the local dealer is quotin on leftover r6 from 2002 (heck even the 2000) he had is still higher that what i was quoted when i asked the price for this bike.
