Here's the thing, i have a 2000 SRX that i have long travel'd and longtracked to 136, i went with Advantedge adj transfer rods for a Viper (to compensate for longer travel) and installed in 2nd hold on skid, closet to the back.....so now my question, do the rods limit the travel of the whole suspension or the just the coupling(spell?), because when i have the rods in the lowest setting (for less transfer), i have next to no compression of rear spring or shock when i stand on the back and bounce, is that the way it's works?, just doesn't seem right to me..................James

it changes when the suspension couples, meaning when the front and rear arms start working together instead of independently. Small gaps on the transfer rods will make it couple sooner, big gaps make the arms work independently for a longer time. If you have a small gap and jump on it, it is coupling early and you can't give it enough force to compress it.

If you are unsure take both shocks out and you can collapse your suspension to check and see the limits of your couplers. If its not right you will not have full suspension travel because of the binding. Best to check the suspension moves freely front and back. You can over adjust couplers and damage suspension so know the limits you can adjust too.

undu the rods and try standing on the back if it moves freely the rods are to long you should have them in the first hole for best transfer .shorten them up by cutting the lenth you need off the top of the rods and reweld the axle collers back on .the 98 srx came out with the rods closer to the back axle and would not trasfer as well as the 99s did.it was the first mod i did and is great for holeshots pulling the skis and breaking w arms.mabie rick has a differant lenth you could try aswell.
