I have a 2001 sx600r that I put 8AB's in the primary with a silver secondary spring set at 70 two years ago. The backshift has always been great in the trails until this year. I removed the primary and checked the spring, rollers and weights-they all look good. I cleaned both clutches. The only thing I see is slight wearing of the buttons in the secondaryabout the same as last year. I even tried to increase the winding to 80 with no improvement. Both clutches move freely. The poor backshift seems to occur when running over 1/2 throttle then letting off and hitting it, this is where the bog appears. I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

The belt is new, I have cleaned the carbs but I am going to do them again.

If the primary clutch is not hanging up (possible), then I agree that you're looking at a carb problem.

Thanks for the input, it took the carbs apart again last night and one of the jets in the middle carb was dirty. I went riding this am and it runs great. Thanks again this saved me alot of work as I was sure it was a clutch problem since I had already cleaned them.
