I know that the SRX steering post is naturally weak. Assuming this is braced and made strong enough.. Can you use MM throttle and oil cables to get a 4"-5" rise? If so is there any companies out there making a longer brake line to fit a 99 srx? Basically looking to ride more off trail and MM's are not a common find in my neck of the woods.
Thanks Fella's
I saw this pick on here yeaterday and it got the juices flowin'

I think Mtn perf also sells a beefed up 1.5 inch taller steering column. Might be better all the way around. Maxdlx

So I see the steering column, or stiffner, I found the Longer brake line. The only question I had was, does the MM longer cables work on the 99 SRX?

I am sure they do, I wasn't talking about the stiffener either, They make a stronger steering column to completely replace yours. I am almost 99% sure the MM cables will work. Maxdlx

Thanks, I saw both the new column and the stiffner, I guess the new column would be the way to go.

Mountain max cables will work.
Also, the 97 and 98 SX brake hoses where about 2 inches longer than anyother years.
I have a 98 hose on my SXR and i have a 4 inch block with a pivot riser.

The sled in those pics belongs to buddy of mine.
As far as strengthening your steering column, all that i did was pound a piece of sch40 pipe w/ an o.d. that is slightly smaller than the i.d. of the steering column, and then welded the two together flush at the top. I have not broken the steering column since.

Is the sled comfortable to sit and ride? or are you stuck in the standing position. I'm not looking for as much rise as your bud's, prob just 4 inches.

His sled forces you to stand up or have your arms go numb, I dont like the height or position.
I have 2" on my srx and love it, really makes a bigger difference than you would think.
