I had tagged this question on to another thread but didn't get any responses...so....i will try it again...
I currently am running a hauck orange spring with a rate of 55, 2.75 & 135 it engages at around 5000 rpm, perfect for my drag runs but i want to get something around 4200 to 4500 rpm for my current set up for on/off trail use i have stock weights, green sec & Advantege 48/40 helix. I would like to know what each number represents and how it affects engagment, shift etc.....i was looking at two springs from Advantege 1) 52.5, 2.21 & 125 2) 55, 1.67 & 110.........thanks in advance.....i know....i know...i should just get a clutch tunning manual, like Olaav Aaen's book, but using this site is more fun!!!!!!!!...............James

Your #1 performance shop!
Using your Hauck spring as an example.
55 = the preload in kg which sets the engagement.
2.75 = spring rate (kg/mm)
135 = total force in kg which sets your top end rpm's.
The Yamaha G-W-G (45, 2.75, 136), P-G-P (40, 3.0, 139) or G-G-G (40, 2.75, 131) should get you close. Either the P-G-P or G-G-G should get your engagement down to around 4200.

Thanks for the reply, i thought the first number was for engagement, i guess the two from advantage would still give me a high engagement with 52.5 kg............James
