Yamalube. I put 2000 miles on my srx last year with very little build-up on my powervalves. I had a 2002 Viper I put 3750 miles over three seasons and didn't clean the powervalves until shortly before I sold it with no valve problems. If Yamaha thought it was a real concern they would offer a different product. Just my 2 cents.

i ran only yamalube in my 03' viper for a year and the power valves were stuck solid. took me an hour to get one out. . since that i swore never agin and switched to synthetic, which solved the problem. no carbon build up since.

Well I have tried Yamalube, Klotz,Spectro and now I am using Amsoil and I did'nt see much difference in any of them. Alot of it has to due with your jetting and clutching believe it or not and oil pump setting.

Welcome deekersrx700. Reading my previous post it seems rather rude, so I am sorry, I try to never be rude on here.
There is more than a pageful of Best Oil threads on this site alone. While you cannot search on a word that is only 3 characters in length (such as oil), you can search on any of the common oil names (Klotz, Amsoil, Shell, Yamalube, etc.) Lot's of reading, mostly opinion based on limited personal experience.

The problem is that very few of us have the time, sleds, or money to conduct a fair and un-biased comparison of any significant number of products under even slightly controlled circumstances. Unfortunately, all we can do is try a few different oils over the course of several years, and usually across different sleds. We each form our opinions based upon this quite limited "test". Each of us usually find one that seems to work good, and is within our budget, and then we stick with it. After that we defend our choice, whatever it is, quite fiercly.
Do make sure that the oil you choose carries the specifications recommended by the manufacturer.

It's really like this, blond, red head, brunett.....
- No one has killed a motor running Yamalube, but it smells nasty
- Klotz is great oil and it smells fine
- Amsoil Interceptor is the oil I run and love it, no stink and it keeps the motor clean
- Bluemarble is something I have not tried but hear it's good and forest friendly
- WallMart oil is what my buddy runs in his SRX-700 and SXR-500 and he has never had a problem and he sunk the SRX and the motor still runs like a champ. hmmmmm.... $7.00 a gal. compaired to my $23.00 gal Amsoil.... They are both TC-W3 cert. Doug

My (sold last year) 2000 SRX was only Klotz. During the three years of ownership (8750 miles CANADA riding ST. Zinon). I cleaned My power valves every 1200 to 1600 miles. I had very little build up of gummy deposites. On the other one of my fellow riders had some problems with amsoil in his 99 SRX (pulled through power valve cables). His valves were cleaned every time mine were. He switched over to Klotz and had just a little sludg build up like mine.

I will have to check I don't know if you can get schaffer in canada.Had alot of problem's with amsoil. The schaffer seems to lubricate better and leaves a thin film on everything and keeps the powervalves cleaner.

I don't understand people having problems with Amsoil. I have used it for years and find it a good oil. I have never noticed build up on my srx's, and haven't used the interceptor. The only race oil they have was the stuff for $30 a gallon, and I used it, but it didn't seem to be any better or worse. Just like the guy said, it is like women. Some are better than others, some feel different, and some smell different, but you should use one. Just kidding for the sensitve out there.
