Amyone have an idea wahy Yamaha doesn't offer full range back rest on their two-up machines? My wife likes a two-up machine but wants the nice comfy backrest that's fully adjustable.

They do. At least I thought they did. All the newer machines that they catagorize as 'two-up' (Venture) have the adjustable backrest. And this goes back a few years.

They do not have an adjustable backrest on the 4-strokes. My 68 yr.old riding partner was REALLY interested in a new Venture until he noticed the backrest. It does have some fore and aft movement, but does not swing forward like the 97-03 Venture. He says when they change that, his 700 is GONE!

Viper Dave, I think your correct. Yamaha is missing the boat here. I would by a new sled for the wife but she won't give up here backrest. I ask her which she'd rather have me or the backrest. Her reply was " I sure would miss you " studdog

LOL!! Thats good!! I named my budies 97 600 Venture "The Barcalounger" He added a Rox Riser just to get the bars LOWER, HAHA. He rotates them down so his hands almost rest on his knee's. You should see him, leaning back in his mobile recliner! But every tiime I lookin my mirror, there he is. He wasn't sure about the 700 when he bought it, but loves the smoootthhh triple and WAY beter gas mileage and oil useage. And of course , it's called "The Barcalounger II".
