Me and a few freinds are staying at the Reel Inn january 13-16 and I am wondering where the best trails are in that and surrounding areas. Most of the maps I see don't show anything but main trails which tend to be boring and over-crowded. I like turns and twistys. Also where is a good place to food and few drinks once my riding is done for the day. I never have more than one out on the trail. Seen to many accidents from alcohol.

Sandmanmike1, Our crew stayed there last February. Mike, the owner, will be more than happy to show you the two tracks, maybe he'll even take you to his deer camp and feed you some beer and top off your gas. He's one of the nicest people I've meet. If he's busy, take a trip to Big Bay. Once we split up on the return trip from Big Bay in Marquettte. Two of use went via Gwinn and the others took the shorter route by 30 or so miles. Heck we even has a beer down our throats by the time the others arrived, but they did run into some rough conditions. And gas right outside your door.

Check a trail map, but there are several loops you can take depending on the miles you wish to travel. FYI.. the trip to Big Bay and back to the cabin is about 240 miles.

Have fun

I used to live in Ishpeming and by far my favorite ride in the UP is a loop starting from Ishpeming, and heading to big bay on the 310 trail, then back down from big bay on trail 8. There are plenty of amazing views and some play areas along the trail. The only problem with this ride is it can get pretty beat down during the weekend.
