What is the best set-up for speed runs? I currently have the limiters tightened right up. I'm not sure what to do with the shocks in the rear skid. Should the first shock thats located above the limiter straps be tightened up? What about the rear shock. I'm going to add extra wheels to the front of the rails to reduce the friction. Any other tips would be great. Thanks

From reading on here I would say front limiters tightened up...Front shock tightened...rear shock loosened....Transfer rods backed off...We'll see what others say..

I plan on running in the trail classes. I have to keep 2 inches front and rear travel and it cannot be tied down. Yes I plan to trail ride it but I'll just adjust it back for trail riding. In the trail stock classes I'm only allowed to run trail studs. I have a stock track I'll use seeing your not allowed speed tracks. There is currently 96 holes up the middle, so I figured I'd put some carbide tips in and let here rip. Buffalobob if theres anymore info you need let me know. Thanks,

the lower the sled the faster it will be. however, if you are going to trail ride it & race it you don't want to be spending a lot of time switching the setup back & forth.
take out thermostat - forever. make sure the full length of the track is on the ground. put on dull carbide runners. 1/16" to 1/8" gap in transfer rods. if the skiis are lifting tighten the rear of rear shock ( more preload ). 96 SHARP carbide studs down the middle of the track. leave in stock jetting. duct tape every opening in the belly pan & hood - except the two openings under the head lite. go to 1.58 gear ratio. use a new broken in belt. clean your clutch & belt surfaces with acetone & scuff surfaces with scotch brite. keep your belt adjusted snug. loosen secondary to 40 degrees. KEEP THE TRACK TIGHT. put on enough wheels so the hyfax is not touching the rail. motor should initially full shift to 8300 rpm & slowly pull up to 8500 rpm the last 500 '. put the sled on lift @ start line & put serious heat in the pipes. roll the sled out about 50' gradually increasing throttle then nail it. duck under windshield & pull in arms & legs. is that enough?
or you could just buy my IS700 srx - 135.2 mph. NBSSR record holder last 3 years.

thanks bob, I appreciate your help
That is definetely more info than I figured I would get. I appreciate it very much. How much are you looking at getting for your IS700 SRX? How much horsepower does it have? Will you be doing North Bay again this winter?

sled is in my shop & apart. making some special changes. looking for 137 to 138 this season. if i do not sell it i will be back in north bay.

Why are you selling it?
Are you ready for another challenge? If I had the cash you'd be getting it, hopefully I'll run into you in North Bay this winter. I live in the bay so I'll try to be down there whenever there running depending on my work schedule. Anyhow thanks again, hopefully your little tips will get me a few more miles an hour? What speeds are stock SRXs running in 2000' in the bay? Just wondering what I should be gunning for.
