1996 V-Max 600XT , comet replacement primary?

Hi everyone !

Is it possible to replace the original primary sheave with a Comet primary?.

I`m sick of buying rollers and weights for my original Yama sheave. Keeps frying the rollers after having ridden less then 5kilometers.
