Does anyone know what RPM a 98 srx 600 should be running at? What top speed are most srx 600's running and does anyone know how much effect a bad power valve servo would have on top speed?
Thanks for any help.

600 srx likes 83-8400 rpm. A bad servo motor would kill your rpm,s & make it run like a 440.

The thing runs out of the hole great. Just has no top end, rpm's running 8500-8600. put new track on last year with expert x suspension. since then the top end has been killed on this thing. I think I will verify my clutch center to center distance tonight since I pulled some of that apart when I put the new track on.

A deeper track could cause you to loose top end .

I went from the stock track which I think was a .75 lug to a camo 9830 track which is a 1.00 lug.

It will pull 75-80 rather quickly, it will then gradually creep to 100 and that is it. This thing use to pull 115, according to the speedo. The changes since have been 9830 camo track and expert x suspension. The rpms are running about 8500-8600 with heavy hitter clutch weights. I checked the powervalves, they were out of adjustment and I set them to factory specs, No change in top speed. I have also tried a new belt, no help.

track and suspension
I changed from a .75 to 1 inch track and lost 10 mph on my v max. The suspension probably accounts for the other 5.

The rpms may have been down around 8400-8500. I was going to add some what to bring them down a little and see if that will help at all.

8300-8400 is way better than what u were running, try to make it run at 8300-8400 and see what happens

Don't forget trail and snow conditions make a big difference .

Also went with a 1" lug track. Lost a little on top end but not that much. Sure pulls alot harder. Well worth it. snow conditions and temp will make a big difference.

i went to a one inch lug on my srx..
i found i lost about 10 to 12 miles...
it still reves the same....and snow conditions dont change it much..
it must have something to do with the track.
the powervalves are set to factory spec..
if you find out anything different....let me know...

Did you have the heavy hitters in when you had 115 on the speedo?
