I have a '01 srx that wears out its hyfaxes a lot faster then my other 4 sleds in the family. I took it to the dealer and they said everything looks OK. They suggested that I try and adjust the track deflection loser then specs calls for. I did noticed when its setting on the flat pavement that 3/4 of the length of the skid doesnt even touch the track. Only the area around the curved area towards the front of the skid. Is this the way its suppose to set with no wait on the machine?? If not how would I adjusted it or fix it?

Buy the four polaris wheels and replace the stock ones in front with those. You're problems will disappear. See the tech section for more information and part numbers.

loosen the track tension and pull the limiters up until the track is flat.

there is a tech bulletin from yamaha, pull up limiter straps, loosen track, soften rear shock settings, and put thinner spacers on the bottom of transfer rods. if you do a search in the archives, there is alot of useful info. also as stated above look into the tech section, there are helpful tips there as well. after doing the above my srx went 3000+ miles on same hyfax. ski

the rear of the skid on my '01 is real high off the ground with no weight on the sled, even higher than a stocker because it has a long travel kit, but the hyfax only wear a lot to a certain point, almost at the point of replacing, and then stop with the rather small yamaha idlers. Mine also has a small wheel kit at the bend. They are definately a little tougher on hyfax than the other yam's.

stang, you need polaris idlers off of a 83-92 indy I belive. Just make sure they are 5.35 wheels. they are stamped on tah back of them. I got mine for 35.00 shipped to my door. Bought mine from Hardcoresledder.com. Good luck, and they do space it up a bunch, only place the track touches the hyfax now is right at the bend. I think i am also gonna get the small wheel kit for the bend

Hi, If i was to go aftermarket what one would you suggest?
The Polaris ones are a little bigger then you listed 5.375
And these aftermarket yamaha's are also 5.375
but I found these Cat ones that are 5.35 & take a 6205/2RS bearing
just like the other two
