are ohlins good? on a sx

ohlins and yamaha's go together like "peanut butter and tuna fish............ what? Perhaps you like peanut butter and jelly better." (quote from Big Daddy, the movie) but seriously, ohlins are the best thing for a yamaha, especially the older yammies, and $200 is a killer price for ohlins, but it really depends on the miles for wear and tear.

yea if they are the piggyback clickers 200 is a damn good deal, even if they haven't been rebuilt lately its still a good deal, pretty cheap to get them rebuilt. And about the ride, hardly even comparable.

I liked the ride of my 97 600sx that came with the ohlins better than my 03 viper. even with the longer trtavel of the viper, I would rather have the travel impared ohlins of my 97 :) they were that good. and I never rebuilt them with nearing 10k miles, they still rode PERFECT! clickers are the best thing ever

murph i have them on my 98 sx and all i can say is they rock, loose the steel skis, for some plastic skis and with a 1.25 ripsaw with studs and you will have a awsome handiling sled.i am having my ohlins rebuilt with extentions added as well....

the mater

def not studding the ripsaw this year...no plastic skis either. just have enough for parts to get it to run and the ohlins after the track...

money into it this year...

handguards
bar riser
ohlins-soon
speedo gear housing
radiator house
clutch gaurds
ripsaw
paint for the pipes
3 bottles of grease lightening
slides
2 cans of carb cleaner

and what ever else lol.
