My sled has pipes, reeds, filters, and a boost bottle on it and it is burning hot despite the 165 mains. My dealer says raising the mains wont help, and that I will need some bigger nozzles. Does this make any sense? I have never heard of this and i was wondering if you guys agree. Would the carbs have to be drilled to accomodate the larger nozzles? let me know asap.
How about telling what sled...
Sled?

You mention pipes--I assume they are the stock srx triples (if not put them back on)
That said, I have never heard of changing nozzles on the 600 srx. However the 2001 sxr had different nozzles then the 97-99 sx 700's. When we piped a 01 we simply installed 97 nozzles, and this way we didnt need to learn about jetting all over again.
IF they are the stock pipes you dont have any major mods, and i am a bit confused. I dont know that much about the 600 srx, and you should contact the person you purchased the aftermarket stuff from or TURK.
Good luck

my sled has AAEN pipes and contrary to what everyone believes, I dynoed them and gained 2 hp on top and 7 mid range. I also have a boost bottle, v force reeds, and K&n's I am having a hard time to get all these things set up together. The dealer says the nozzles are too small.

Well I am "surprised" at the hp gains and would probably consider the mor connected to jetting etc.
If you stongly beleive these gains a re real (& safe) I would cont aaen, because they could probably help the most...
AAEN is a good company.

the problem is from the k/n filters
put your stock airbox back on and your problems will be gone, there is too much airflow with the k/n's, they work good for grass racing but not very good for snow. The nozzles and every other circuit will have to be changed as the fuel flow requirments will be huge without the airbox on and low temps

I didnt even notice that you have k&N --I agree this is your problem, but also probably the answer for hp gain.

Put the stock air box back on. If you do decide to go with different tubes you do not need to drill your carbs

Forgot to ask. Are you running any stagger on your jets. All your post said was jetts 165. Your mad side needs to be jetted fatter than the PTO and center cyl.

the pilots and needles are set to be richer on the mag side. I really wanted the airbox to stay on, but with the boost bottle, and v force reeds, together the carbs were pushed back too far to fit the stock airbox. The filters were put on after the pipes were dynoed as well as the boost bottle and v force reeds. I dont know what it is making for power now. It is not the pipes that are causing the problem ever since I put the other stuff the jetting has been hard. My dealer is confusing, they tested my sled in -10 and it was running 1180's on top, then they tried it in +10, degrees F by the way, and they said it was running 1200-1250. Dont you think it would be the opposite? Thats why they want me to put new nozzles.

Get the airbox on and jetting will be a lot easier. The box does fit with the boost bottle, it's just a tighter fit. With the open filters you suck a lot more air, giving you the lean condition and hard to jet fat enough.

the reeds
the reeds have a spacer that you can see that says v force, its about a quarter inch, that is the onlything that lets you know there are reeds, its a square piece, but i think it comes with the reeds. My dealer said for sure it wouldnt fit. Could that be the problem?
