I have a 98 SRX and upgraded the rear suspension with viper shocks. It seems to ride quite well but it will not transfer or hook up at all. I have read somewhere that the 00-02 SRX's had the transfer rod repositioned for better transfer. Does anyone know if this modification can be made to the 98-99's?

the newer ones have shorter control rods mounted in the further forward holes in the rails (in front of the rear idlers), whereas the 98-99s are mounted behind the rear idlers, with longer rods. Limiter strap settings are also different, as well as control rod spacers.
It can be done but will need the rods and parts as yamaholic said, with the same hole location in the rail.

You need the longer limiter straps out of the 00-02 SRX, SXr or any 02-05 Viper or any 03-04 RX-1/Warrior as well. The 98-99 SRX straps were considerably shorter than the 00-02 which also helped with the transfer.
