Yamaha released their 2006 Sportbikes today. Looks like a great lineup. The bike that receive the most changes is the R6. Check out the new R6 here.

They are still offering the "old" R6 too which is basically a 2005 R6. (Doesn't have the inverted forks like the '05s do though). They're calling it the YZF-R6S.

Here's the YZF-R1. They've changed a few things on it, but their isn't any radical changes.

Yamaha has also announced a Limited Edition 2006 YZF-R1LE. Only 500 will be made.

Looks like Yamaha will be showing everybody their taillight for '06.

Im glad I got my black 05. I wish they would have went with a Rossi sceme instead of Roberts, I dont dig the yellow. The UK got a sweet black and gold LE.

Ya a Rossi bike would've been sweet. I kinda like the yellow though. The UK must be a year behind the U.S. on model years?? They list '05 bikes. I assume that they will have to wait until next year before they get the 3rd generation R6??
I wonder how much more HP and/or torque the new R6 will have compared to the old one??
That black and gold UK R46 is sweet. I wonder why the U.S. doesn't give us any graphics packages like this??

Just thought I would add that the 2006 R6 redlines at an insane 17,500 RPM.
Did you guys see the New FZ1....wow,,,sharp. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelspecs/7/0/specs.aspx

Wonder what kind of HP the new R6 is gonna make. My guess is 110 or less, but at 17500 it looks to have some major overrev ability. The supersport guys are going to be stout next year.

That thing is looking pretty serious this year.
I am really leaning towards this bike for next summer. Everything that I have read and heard points towards it being the perfect fun, sporty bike that you can put 500 mile days in on if you want, which is exactly what I'm looking for.

You are talking 110 horse at the rear wheel right, because last year's r6 had about 123 at the crank.

The new bikes look real nice. I think the yellow on the R1 looks good. The fz1 looks sweet as well. I'd like it even better if it had the under seat exhaust like the fz6.

110 at the rear wheel. Mfg. like to quote cranks numbers because they are large. RWHP is the only # that counts.

155 , mabey 160 on a good day. The new liter bikes are all within a hp or 2, except the fireblade, but I see they made some changes for 06...so they might have got a little closer.

new blade doesn't look to have much new in the way of engine, looks like they're spending to much money trying to catch Rossi
