Can someone please give me a description of the procedure for aligning the clutches on a 700sx? My offset is fine but my center to center is off a little. I have the tools but I am not sure how to correct.

You have to loosen the motor mounts and slide it to where you want it then measure again and keep doing it till it is just right .

what kind of tools are you using? there are different procedures for different types of alignment tools.
I have Maxximum Performances' center to center and offset tools.
I guess I am not sure which bolts to loosen?

Two big bolts in the front of the motor mounted to the bulkhead 17mm if I remember. Remove the airbox and carbs to get to the rear bolts 14/15mm if I remember. When you put it back together make sure you put a tiny offset in it so when the motor is under load it pulls itself to correct alignment. That means that when you measure the offset you will have between 13.5mm ~ 16mm in front of the secondary you want 1-3mm closer in the rear so it would be 10.5mm ~ 13mm at the back. This puts the motor at a slight offset and pulls itself straight when you punch it. doug
