I've been looking into this one also. Carbs, and oil pump are the same, so that end should work. Not sure about the throttle lever/block end yet. Should be able to run just the one cable to the happy flipper like the old throttle cable, and not use the lower oil cable position.

how high do you think you could go and still be somewhat comfortable with the stock seat? im 5'11''. might as well ask before i buy the riser. but now rox products has an adjustable riser from 4'' to 5 1/2'' but spendy i think $135

Yamiman, I'm also 5' 11"ish. I have a 2" riser now and have to stoop slightly when standing on the running boards. I'm thinking a 4" riser would be just about right.

if i would have seen that before i ordered my stuff i prob would have bought that one. The only thing that makes me nervous about the types that dont use a block is i wonder if they could twist a little then eventually strip the ridges on the bar. I have no idea but just a thought.

Well, I just received my 05 Mtnviper cable. Some modifications are required to make it fit on the 02 throttle lever block. The 05 cable housing end is a little larger diameter (approx 1/64-1/32") and a different shape. It does require some drilling in the plastic throttle lever block. Not a huge deal, but takes some more time.
The 05 cable has a splitter in it for the oil cable. When you buy the 05 cable, you are replacing both the oil and throttle cable's with one cable. At the carb's and oil pump, the hook-up's are the same.
The 05 cable is approx 2" longer. I am going to a 3 1/4 pivot riser, from a 2" riser, with the 05 cable I could go even higher no problem.
