Has anyone bought the stainless shock mounts off ebay to raise the front of your SRX when adding Viper rear shocks? Wondering how they worked out...

I had the ones for a sx on my 700 sx, same concept different mount. They worked great. It raises the center of gravity some, but it still worked nice. Maxdlx

i was looking at those too, but i was worried about the same thing, higher center of gravity causing a lot of body roll and ski lift, the srx is already bad enough at ski lift with the long travel rear compared to my sxr's.

re front kit
if your looking at the ones from tjsrxpilot they work great it lifted my srx as high as my wifes 04 venom. the ride and handle didnt suffer. just my 2 cents but money well spent. give him a call he is a great person to deal with and loaded with info.

Put rear viper shocks on the SRX and will be workin on the front next weekend. ANY advice WOULD BE GREAT

Hauck sell the same thing (http://www.hauckpowersportsinc.com/clearancedetails_1191_1.aspx) little more money and I don't think they are stainless - I've had them on a couple of my SRX's and they work real well

BETHEVIPER recommends flipping the stock ones over and switching sides. Sounds better to me that paying $50, even if a little grinding is required.

Ok I am going to sound like a moron, but are the mount on the trailling arms or attached to the bulkhead. If they are on the bulkhead, how big of a deal is it to get them turned around?

yes but...

Yes you can flip the stock ones but you also have to grind them to fit and add spacer washers. tjsrxpilot's mounts are a bargain at $25 and he's a real honest guy, ...I bought a pair for my ohlins and my track is well grounded now.

Will these brackets from ebay or the Hauck adjustable brackets fit on an 02MM???
My 02MM', just as the newer SXr's (before the Vipers) don't have a stock bracket where the top of the shock mounts....just mounts directly to the front frame...
The older SX's and many SRX's have a stock bracket that can be reversed or replaced...
Don't want to buy the Hauck's if they don't fit...
any help is appreciated.

those brackets from Hauck that are shown on the first page of this thread will not fit on the clevis style mounts of the newer sxrs, vipers, etc. I do believe they have other brackets for that design though. But no the srx ones will not fit.

I flipped mine last year and worked out great. I used a reciprocatign saw to cut the notch out, worked great.
