sled info

exciter sx

I have owned one ever since i bought it in 93. I have quite a bit of knowledge on it, but I never found any luck in finding that type of manual so I bought a second hand one for exciter II's

awesome sled

TYhis sled is very rare as you have heard, the difference between it and a regular exciter II is a beefed up suspension, flatside carbs, and a more powerful engine, about 10-15 more horse than the regular. This sled is very light weight and I am very impressed with it. I very much suggest you get a pair of plastic skis, it'll give you 5 mph over the metal ones and she'll lift right off the ground. Other mods such as a bender pipe, skidplate, and 1inch track are all nice too. I also have 5 other 98 and up sleds and I still love riding the exciter sx.

Can you order plastic skis specific for this or do they bolt on from a different model? Is a mounting kit req'd? I managed to squeeze a 1.25" track under it..... with some mods. I want to adjust the rear suspension a little harder, do I adjust both shocks evenly? I apologize for my ignorance on this machine...heheh. Thanks

exciter

tighten them evenly. I would go with usi skis. I have the px-301's on mine in bright red. You need to get the mounting kit for yamaha sleds it'll fit the exciter II sx. To make your sled match the skis better get a bright red skid plate from highperformanceengineering.com or their catalog, this is the only company that sells skid plates for the exciter sx and I searched a year to find it. At first I thought the red would look out of place but it blends in very well and looks awesome. I'll try to post some pics in the future.
