SnowGoer named the Apex GT sled of the year??? Wow, I didnt think this year was Yamaha's turn to win sled of the year.
Seriously though, the Apex/Apex Mtn, Nytro, Polaris 600 HO, and Polaris FS/FST are the only really new sleds this year.
The Apex is the most new (Polaris sleds are mostly existing chassis' with new engines), so its really the most-deserving to win sled of the year.

Maybe SnowGoer opened the hood on the 600 HO and saw how flimsy it is. I was checking out a 600 HO at the local dealership the other day and I went to open the hood I LITERALLY thought the hood was going to fold in half when I opened it!!!

Im not bashing Polaris at all, they make some great sleds but I wasnt impressed by the 600 HO. The engine is tucked so far back that you can barely see it and the hood is flimsy.
Polaris sleds used to be easy to work on, but not anymore.
Id still take a Vector ER over any other sled on the market, for the kind of riding I do its the perfect sled.

Thats ridiculous. The hoods on the fusion have had no problems with cracking or even flexing. If anything is flimsy, its the panels on the apex/attack and the fasteners they use to hold them. Also, taking all them off does not provide any real access to anything. Not a yam bash, just real world facts. The good thing is that there likely wont be any need to do anything to the yam.

I also notice the flexability of the polaris hoods. Pulled up on their new four stroker to check under the hood, and the opposite side of the hood flexed so much it got hung up on something on the otherside of the sled. Hope they remain as flexible during really cold winter condition or they'll shatter.

x-ape, not sure about the flexiblity of the apex hood and sidepanel components as I've never removed one, but it's entirely possible.

They all make great sleds. It's great to be on the cover: YAMAHA.
This will make for some good conversation. Also, Yamaha's re-intro back into Cross-Country racing. ;)!

I don’t think SnowGoer is a very good magazine. They have never ridden a bad sled or tested a bad product. In order to rate a top trail sled I would think you would need a top trail rider... They don’t have one of those. The Apex may deserve that rating, I just don’t give the people rating it any credibility.
