That would be the 750cc motor based on the rX1. They must have lightened the whole chassis and suspenders, or come up with a totally new one...for it to be an actual 500 pound sled. Looking forward to Feb 6!

700 4 stroke?
WOW- a little weight loss and 25% less power?!?!?!
What a joke.
Think the guys will line up at the doors for that?
That Rev is looking pretty good, you would not believe the amount of Yamaha riders changing color. Anyone want a 03 rx1 mtn?

actually a 750 tripple 4 stroke in a 500lb chassis would be PERFECT for a 600cc replacement sled(should anc would compete with other manufactures 600cc 2 stroke sleds) and I would probibly trade my 01' SX600R on one, if not then I'll be keeping my SX-R and putting a136" kit on it and keeping it for a few more years.

The story i have heard on the 750 4 stroke is that it's a turbo and will put out more power than the RX1.
I spoke with a dealer today who told me that there is a new rear suspension coming out and a new touring machine. He heard the rumor of a 750cc machine but his rep. said nothing about it to him.

o5 sleds
I was told similar things guys except....the DFI sled (HPDFI) is not a twin ....it's an 800 triple... ....called "RAGE"....the 750 4 stroke in the Rx-1chassis is a touring model..it's not meant to be High Performance...it is meant to compete in the 600 class touring market, which it will do nicely...with or without a turbo it will be a quality machine..something Cat or Polaris can't claim with their 4 strokes..it will replace the venom, it will get better gas mileage (by far)..and ride far better with the a-arm front and new rear....let's face it...nobody bought a venom for speed or ditch banging, they bought them to have a smooth, reliable...excellent trail machine..the VECTOR which replaces it will make those people happy..The new rear suspension is rumored to have 15 inches of travel (with some sit in sag) ..and will have shock options....it's easy to guess that the Rage will be set-up differently than the Vector......BTW the rumored new rear skid supposedly makes the rx-1 and warrior over 40 lbs lighter...and Yamaha did something different to them....they are much faster stock....again rumors from a test rider in Canada had the 05 Rx-1 beating a ZR 900 by 4 sled lengths everytime they ran, and he claims the new rear is simply amazing..nothing like it on the market....let's hope he is right....Everybody thinks a twin 800 is coming with HPDI....Two other sources have now told me that I am wrong...that it's under 500 lbs, and it's a triple....WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THAT?????...

BTW KBX...I ride a Ski-Doo...had a viper last year, it rode like shit...but it never let me down, I love the way my Ski-doo 700 rides...but my Viper would completely wax it across the lake...I mean let's compare, take it from a guy who owned both, starting with the ski-doo 700...
the negatives:
it sucks gas (8-10 mpg)..
I am lucky to get 300 miles to a tank of oil
it's a cold riding bitch, the wind hits me right in the chin (even the viper wasn't this bad)
the hand warmers suck (Yamaha's are the best in the biz)
the gauges suck ( once you go digital you'll never go back)
the hood fits terribly...(my viper was bad too, until update)
the headlights are not as good or as bright as yamis
Gas Gauge sucks...can't read it at night
it never starts on the first pull..it always takes 3 or 4 pulls
The positives on the doo:
it's lighter and quicker than the Yami
has a much better rear suspension...
handle bar placement is better
Nice seat
wider footwells
rer should be on every two stroke sled
anti theft device is slick
So as you can see...to me...the viper was a much better built machine that had better top end performance, got much better fuel economy(14 -15mpg on average) I used to get about 420 miles to a tank of oil..better warmers, gauges, and fit and finish...and it always started in one or two pulls no matter what the temp....If it had only had a better rear suspension, been a bit lighter, had a longer seat, and bigger footwells..it would have been perfect...It sounds to me like they will be doing all of the above...If they do, I will be on blue once again...maybe the rev is a better machine...I don't know, cause I haven't ridden one....ski-doo is not a bad machine, and I like this one...but it's NO Yamaha...I sure hope Yamaha does what I have been hearing...otherwise I am with you...I'll be buying a REV...but I already miss that Yamaha Quality, and reliablity...nobody else does it like they do...so I really hope friday is a day of good news for Yami fans...

I just red this on MAX forums.. wonder if they are far off?
I know the 2005s are just a day away but I found a sketchy list of models for 2005.
RS Vector (750 triple fourstoke)
RS Vector Mountain
RS Rage (800 dfi that will be yamaha's last 2 stroke in the snowmobile market)
RS Venture
RX Warrior
RX-1
RX-1 Mountain (the same with a new mountain skid, clutches, fuel injection, and lighter exhaust)
SX Viper Mountain
Kind of interesting, but I don't know how true it is. I have heard the 750 might be turbocharged if it is in fact a real model. I have also heard that the SX viper mountain is the only 2 stroke left in the lineup which would mean the rage would be four stroke. We'll see tomorrow.
