what gears did the 1998 sx700 come with from the factory

1998sx 700 gears&chain(70L) come with from the factory, the manual says 40/23 (1.739) and what gears should i go with to get more snap out of the hole. not concerned with losing some top end

I forget the gear off the top of my head, but it is listed in your manual.

I tried a variety, and found the stocks to be best all around.

if you want the best shoot out then i would reccomend that you go with 20/40 i used this with a 1.5 track but i needed mid and top so i stay with 21/40......

yamaha.com has the parts section now. They have the microfiche with the stock gearing for all sleds.

Stock is 23/40. I run 21/40 in my 97 and still run 115 on speedo. It runs right with my Viper w/ heelclickers.
