apply speedy metal polish to 0000 steel wool until it beads a little. spread a thin layer all over and finish with a high speed buffer. this way only takes 2 hours tops and turns it into a mirror! i used to do it by hand and with a flitz ball and it didnt look as good and took 5+ hours. mothers and other paste polishes dont work nearly as well. http://www.speedymetalpolish.com/products.html

This is what the guys with the big rigs use to keep their wheels shiny. Takes about 20 minutes to do a whole sled without heavy polishing and buffing.

You may want to try a product called flitz. It works on just about everything. It helped my wheels and my headlight covers on my car. Headlight covers where faded and yellowish. Now they are crystal clear again.

Nothing works on my semi truck like Lightning Shine from Wicked Products. Bar none nothing better. You can get it at any Freightliner dealer or online. I've used it on my CR 250 frame and a few sled tunnels and it works great. I spent days and days trying to find something to help polish my 150 gallon aluminum tanks faster and this stuff is the best. It will only take you about a half hour per side of your tunnel by hand.

what about mothers aluminum polish?
What's the best product to use after polishing to maintain the finish? I'm in the process of doing this to my viper, but want to put a final layer of something to proctect as long as possible. How often do you guys rebuff?

mothers works but it is a lot more labor intensive than speedys. speedys also has silicone and other stuff in it to keep it from going bad again.gwinnraptor said:what about mothers aluminum polish?

I use Never Dull by Eagle One , this works great ! you need a little elbow grease and end up with black fingers but it works.
