i went to grayslake today and got to do the test ride. first the yamaha guys ask if i want to ride the 120 hp nitro or the 150 hp apex. easy choice for me! they cooled down an apex with a leaf blower and off i went. first thing i noticed was the awesome throttle response! second thing was how short the coarse was and the lack of traction. i was hoping to open it up and get a feel for the power. instead it spun bad and left a rooster tail like a sob. damn! at least i got a little bit of a taste and cant wait for a winter demo. hey yamaha, how about some chisels in the track and a 500ft grass drag for a demo? 
I also rode the Apex! It seems like one awsome sled. The power and the ride are excellent and it is so smooth. I agree that the test area doesn't give you the full ability of the Apex, but it was enough to impress me.

was this just on a grass coarse?? that stinks if it was, but better than nothing! I tried it on the snow last spring, nicest smoothest sled and motor I have ever been on. reminded me of the turbine like power of my old vmax 4, only a LOT better feeling! I want one bad!

yup, a short grass course. not many strait shots to pin it either. it was all over in less than a minute.
I felt the same way. when it was over I thought now that I have a feel for it I can see what it's like but no go my turn was over. Nice sled; it wanted to get up and go thats for shure.

I gave it about a 3-4 mile ride, it was nice. some real twisties and nice straight shots as well.
I was gonna take another ride today, but they shut down due to the rain last night and this morning.
