Anyone know about these? They had a very nice looking modular helmet at the show yesterday for around $130.00. It is not Snell approved and seemed like it might be on the heavy side. In a ways it reminded me of an HJC, but was told that it is better yet. I would like to try a modular so I can ride with my glasses instead of contact lenses.

Modular helmets can not be snell approved. As far as Zeus helmets bought to last year worst helmets that I ever had.

That old saying...You get what you pay for. Just make sure that the helmet you purchase is Snell and Dot approved. I believe one deals with front impact and the other rear impact. Modular helmets will not be front impact approved. It's up to you and your head, but I'd wear contacts and purchase the safer helmet.

One test the helmet is dropped from 8 feet up the other is 10 ft up. Not sure of which is which. My numbers can be off a little too. I do know that is how they test them.

All of the test procedures are available online. I was interested a couple years ago and researched it a great deal. Of course I don't remember the particulars at this point, but the Snell test includes procedures that the DOT test does not.
