1981 srx 500 pro stock sled

looking to sell my 81 srx mod. was 440 ,sleeved to 500cc. great shape . wahl skis ,track and suspension. 44 mm carbs , polaris driven and comet quick change drive. 2800.00 or will part out. will have it at the vintage show in newport maine this weekend. I have too many sleds and need to sell off a few.

just had a brain freeze i think we talked about 8 years ago when i built mine .do you have a custom hood on that machine.i believe you sent me pics way back when interested to see if it's the same machine.norman ball 111 used to race one for psi perf back in the day he is on the back of the catalog.neat stuff...!

do you have any pics of it though? and where did you get the sleeves to bump her up to 500 cc's, I would love to do that to my race sled, as im racing it now in 600 mod class and can use more then 440cc's if i can get it.

it runs 78 srx or ssr pistons... 81 440 was a smaller bore with longer stroke than the 76 to 80 srx. custom made sleeves from L A sleeve co.

thanks, do you guys know the exact differences between the bore and stroke of the 80 and 81 motors?

80 srx bore 68.5 stroke 59.6
81 srx bore 66 stroke 64

if you build a 81 engine you need to use the 540 vmax crank as the 81 will not live long.

hmmm, well then how many Hp does the vmax 540 engine make? im running 600 and 700 mod class anyhow, still would be in spec. would it make more Hp and torque?

My Delaughter 540 mod makes 125hp I dont know how much a stocker makes maybe 100 hp.
