srx vs 800ho

should be able to beat a stocker no problem, if he does intnernal work you will have your hands full though. I didn't have anyproblems last year after changing tracks with them.

They are tougher then you think, I got beat by a 600HO, but I couldn't hook up at all and I had just got the sled and it was close to set up the way I wanted it. Still no excuse it was a fast little 600! I have never encountered a 800 yet but from what I understand they are similar weight and lots more power.

i have had no problem with either in the past.exept in the powder/loose snow.then i need a distance.but on hard pack you should take them.i personally believe the 600's are faster.

my buddy ran a borrow brand new 800 ho last year and beat me on an airfield ( packed snow flat run)

the next trip i geared down 1 tooth on top, but added viper long travel shocks. I gained on him but in the 14/ mile he beats me.

this year will be a 1" 9830 track and a 52/42 helix. hope this works, otherwise its nitrous :o) He cannot beat me with a free sled to use :o|

my only excuse is both trips i found a pulled out power valve cable after the trips......

clutch

what about a well clutch srx ? will it help? I know it made a big!!!!! differance on my RX1 but I know it helps some but is it worth it?

How serious bout this drag are you cuz if you are then go for it... i know that well clutched sleds are really quick and snappy... youll enjoy it on the trails also.

Last year, My buddy was riding my 2000 SRX and THen out of no where came an 800 ho rev. I didn't think it would be that great but when my buddy raced him on my sled,he wasn't pulling away from him that quickly but he beat him out of the hole so well that it didn't matter. His was clutched and it ran extremely well but could keep up with my 2000. Very close though at top speed.

My buds stock 1999 xcr700 beat one last year across the lake, on hard pack, most 700 srx's are faster than him. 8bu-00's might kill your top speed though.

I am shocked by many of the responses - I have a few slight mods to my Viper and some very good clutching and I dusted several 800HO last year. I have had several SRX's (98, 00, 01) currently we have three 01 SRX's (one IMP STOCK) the stockers are very well clutched (one is an 136" with Vip Skid) and they will run with anything out there (dusted several Fusions and ran with some very fast ZR9's) . In a nutshell, check the overall performance of the SRX (bearings, clutching, slides, power valve operation) and you should eat his lunch.

Get a good clutch kit or create your own and you will have no problems!

I am also surprised by the responses. I have a stock 02 srx and bud has an 05 800HO and I pull away from him no problem on top end and thats with my sled long traveled.

Havent raced him from a standstill so perhaps that could be a different story.

I have a bud with a very well dialed in 05 800 doo. It is a lot quicker then any other ones out there & my buds ported good running clutched 98 700 SRX can not hang with it. It was way slower when new but all of a sudden it is about 10X quicker. Probably dropped some $$$$ with Cudney Racing. If you lose top speed with 8bu,s your clutching is off!
