Hi All,
My buddy back home has a co-worker selling a NEW - ZERO Miles 2004 SX Venom ER w/elec start for $5500 or Best with some modular helment. I offered $4800 and he said she won't go less than $5200...
So basically is this a good deal at $5200? I think the sled MSPR'd at $6800... It would be good to get a sled to ride when I get back from IRAQ...
Thanks,
-Steve

you'll be very disapointed in the performance of this sled .good starter sled for youth or woman.
Agree, buy a Viper or newer.

Well, my previous sled was a 97 Vmax 600sx.... That was / is a good sled. I sold it to my brother in law before coming to IRAQ... Also for this year I don't want to get a new sled... I figured I would pick up a used 2001-2003 with 3000 or so miles for about $3000 - $3500. But if I can get a 2004 with ZERO miles for $5000 then I just might do it ya know?
So with that being said - do you still think I will be disappointed in the Performance? What about getting carbon fiber reeds / clutch kit / thinner head gasket?

Honestly, I agree with the others as far as the power part of this sled.....For $5200 you could find yourself a kick *** used 700 or 600 with nuts!! By the way, thanks for serving the country.

I mostly ride up in NH and VT... trails I was happy with the perfomance of the 600 twin... I figure the 600 triple is just as good just not as much torque..
