Started up my 01 SRX last night and noticed it was only running on two cylinders. Changed all 3 plugs, cuz I thought I probably fouled a plug and it was still down one cylinder (generator side). That cyl has good spark, compression is 125 psi across all 3 cylinders and it looks like it is getting gas (plug looks wet). I start the sled every month religiously and let it warm up. I had it running about 3 weeks ago and it ran fine.
One thing to note, when I fired it up last night, it was very low on gas to the point where the gas filter was not submerged in gas. I put some gas in it, but still the same. Haven't cleaned the carbs yet. Sled has about 3000 miles on it.
Any ideas ?
Thanks.

Good chance the plug looks wet with water. When you get that low in the tank it can suck out any water in the tank. When you pull the plug and it is wet, try and light it with a lighter. I'd bet it won't light. Maxdlx

Yea probably a combination of junk gas and a partially clogged pilot jet. If there is water in the gas it always seems to just go to one cylinder, so that is very possible.

Probably a plugged pilot jet. I will bet it is the outside cylinder on the clutch side?! Mine doesn't do it but I have several friends whos' sleds always have plugged pilot jets on the clutch side.

All better...
Pulled the carbs, cleaned them and added fresh gas. They looked pretty good, did not find any plugged jets, so the water theory is prolly what happened.
Runs like a champ and ready to rip the grass.
Thanks for the help !!

Just an idea, but I had 1 cylinder fouling last year and it ended up being a short in the wires running under the motor. It would spark fine most of the time untill it wore through enough to keep it dead. It took me half of the winter to figure it out. It's probably not the case with your problem, but just something to keep in mind.
