valving on Viper front shocks????

Just purchased a pair of Viper front shocks from TY Parts Forum....I believe they are from an 03, but not sure, could be from an 02....

Do these shocks need revalving?....Was there a problem with these shocks???

They are extremly firm and really depends on your riding style.
