What kind of horsepower did the Vmax 4 800's put out stock. And how much horsepower did they put out with quad pipes?

The Vmax-4 800's were all right around 150HP stock. PSI quad pipes will give you the most horsepower increase, around 25 horsepower, and will run at stock RPM without having to weld the crank.

nope, not at all. it is an 800, pretty standard of the time. seen the charts on dynotechresearch.com.

Maybe so with the 150hp, but I raced a 96 800 V-Max several time against a 2001 SRX and it was never close. I have many friends who can vouch for that.

Ya, I smoked the V-Max in good shape. I also have the 93 750 V-Max. I had that sled maxed out at 115mph (sled speedo) on the road. I will say they are the smoothest sleds (engine wise) to be produced. I had a 04 RX Warrior and never liked it. The engine went out on me at 2.3 miles and was replace. I still ended up with junk. That machine would over heat is it sat at idle for more than 5 min. If anyone doesn't believe me they can contact the Yamaha shop North End Repair in Up state NY and ask for the sale guy Jay. He's a good guy who got me back anoter 01 SRX.
The engine in your Warrior went out at 2.3 miles and you got another one and it was still junk? Sounds a little funny to me. Maybe it was the indian, not the arrow.
92 Vmax-4 = 135hp
93-94 = 140 hp
95-97 = 145-147 hp
Add 22hp with just quad pipes, also add 9hp to the 750's with the addition of stock 800 pipes.

they tell you in the manual to NOT let them idle, not needed like a 2 stroke. but I will agree that the max is the smoothest like I said previous
really missing mine now

the vmax 4 needed alot of clutch work, ask turk who rules the roost in brandon mb, they all di, i had a 92 with the 93 updates, pistons cut head and thicker base, put on polaris clutches, this was back in 98-99, and srx would hold a candle to it, oh ya 136ed it also, it would bite then fly, still miss mine also
