If you had to choose between stocks skis
what would you go for
I ride groomed trails & powder boondocking (as btv called it, lol)
Stock RX1 (no saddle)
Stock RX1 (with saddle)
Stock SkiDoo precision skis

I heard a lot of good things about the ski doo skis. The stock skis on my 04 viper s seem to work real well too.

It sounds like Viper S is a pretty good stock ski
Do they have pretty good floatation?
How can you identify the difference from Viper & Viper S ?

For the most part I really like the ski on my Viper S, but last year up in the U.P. riding across a lake that had a crust on top of the snow, they were WICKED! Damn near scary riding it, it kept barely breaking thru the crust and really bit hard back and forth. Probably one of those 1 time occasions, but it was weird. But for trail riding they are pretty good.

viper s, one of my friends has these skis on his mtn viper, and he says they do the same thing when there is a crust, he has flipped the sled a few times when they bit liek that. He is looking to get rid of his for some white skis.
