I'm not too sure when one should replace the reeds on a sled.I have a 03 viper with 3600miles.I don't know how long they normally last.And how you tell when they need replacing?? thanks for the info

check the reeds for cracks and then check to see if they seal right.

I have mine on the bench now. They are carbon fiber reeds. Some of the reed tips do not appear to contact the reed cage. Is this something that cures itself when the engine is running? Should the reeds be replaced because of this? Engine works flawless.

If the reed tips are not touching the cage it is time to replace them, you are losing some of your crankcase charge, robbing you of some power and throttle response.

yup they lose their tension and then don't seal as well, need a new set
