I need to know where this part hooks up to...
I have the wiring harness all apart, and can't for the life of me find where this resistor is supposed to hook up.
What does this resistor do? Is it used for the ignition system somehow?
THANKS!

the only thing a resistor would be used for is the hot grips, you know I had 5 of those sleds and never saw that thing, I think I may have a service manual for that I'm gonna look......

OK, THANKS! I has 2 black wires coming from it, leading to a connector.
I finally got the sled back up and running after I lost a stator last year. Got a new one for 140$ lovin' the e-bay...

Does it seem to be made of ceramic? If so, I would have to agree and say its for the grips.

I had a 93 exciter sx, and I do beleive that does go for the grip warmers. The switch is under the handle bars, I think. It's been a while. Take the plastic cover off, and I think it goes in there. I have been known to be wrong before though. LOL

Ya, it's a ceramic resistor, hell I can even get a pic of it, if you think it would help.
I took the plastic cover off, and don't use one due to some handle bar risers... The thing just sits to the left under the handle bars. Connected to the speedometer housing.
ALSO is it just me or are service manuals for this sled non-existent???
I got it back together, and it runs, PSI pipe sounds nice.

since I had the book out, that is the resistor for the hot grips, plugs into the yell/blue and it may have different colors on thew resistor itself, the book is kind of confusing, it shows it has 2 wires/ both black, it plugs into a yellow/blue with a black connector and its mounted under the gauges......................

Yeah, resistor is all black wires.
Is there supposed to be one connector that goes no where under the headlights?
If I hook up the resistor to the blu / yel, I have an open connector.
colour of the open one is yellow/red stripe and black.... any ideas on that connector? it's a white plastic one.

yell red is usually the hot grip feed wire, what do you have the grips hooked to?

Yeah, the red comes up from the engine, it goes to the grips, but there is another connector in parallel with it, this connector has the yel/red wire on it, and the other wire is black heading back towards the engine compartment.
Maybe it's just an open cicuit there?
What colour wires are supposed to have power under there?
