electric shield wiring?

does anybody know what wires to tap into under the handle bar pad to wire my shield in, what color + or -. any help would be great, thanks

the sled is a 2001 srx

On my 01 SRX,I have my + tapped into the blue wire of the brake light plug under the handle bar pad. It's worked for 3 years now

Blue wire for + and ground to the bolt that holds the top of the airbox to the frame.

The blue wire worked for me on my Venom. Rather than splice, I used a soldering iron to remove the insulation, tinned the wires, tacked them together and taped them up. No problems at all.
took 10 minutes.

Here's what I think you should do. Find a drill bit and bore into the dash. Run the wires down the side of the gas tank on the left side. There are two plugs as shown in the picture. Plug into the one shown in the pic. Hooking into the handlebar pad looks redneck.
