I've read a few posts where people have said to use the srx base gasket on the viper. I haven't been able to find any posts that explain the benefits of this. I'm currently doing a 780 kit on my viper and wonder if I the srx base gasket would give me better cooling.
Can anyone fill me in?

Thanks,
Ryan

The SRX base gasket will give you better cooling because the cooling holes are larger and will allow more water to pass through the middle and mag cylinders.

i remember a post a long time ago about the gaskets being a bad idea. something about the smaller holes on the viper gaskets evening flow out, with the srx gaskets on a viper it cools one cylinder a lot more than the others. i dont know much about it either way, but ill try to find the post for some good reading.

here is a picture, the viper is lower. on both the pto is to the left.
