I was just looking at buying the 4 inner rods ends
& then noticed the price $144.00 for the set.
Does anyone know of a good aftermarket rod end to replace these?

SRXMaine,
Mcmaster probablly has what you need, I got some there for my ski-doo, and the rating in load was around 5000 pounds. much more heavy duty that the stock ones, price was right too! You need to search for "rod ends" in the search window. Click on the thread pitch you need and go from there. I,m not sure of the actual sizes, you'll need to measure yours. I used stainless washers for spacers.

I got mine from princess auto (www.princessauto.com) in their farm equipment section. They were dirt cheap $7 or $8 each. I believe they were also rated at 5000 lb. load strength. You just need to know the measurements and match them up. Good luck

yea wow! thats some dough! I didn't even know that metric was so much more expensive. When I did my joints on my formula i used pn-6072k124 , mcmaster has the left handed nuts too! I just hack sawed off the thickness of the nut, made sure the ends were square, and welded them on the end of the control rods. I did have to drill out the inside of the control rods remaining threads before welding. The only reason I used 1/2 inch joints was because I wanted bronze bearings, and not have to spend $$$$ at the ski-doo dealer. I think I saved around $150?
How the %^&* did you get that link to work?

the QA1 rod ends are overpriced for what you get. aurora are cheaper and better quality. http://www.hiperf.com/cgi-bin/sh000...ormance_Accessories_70.html#aRODENDS#aRODENDS

Maine, Thats an excellent price on those turnbuckles, if I would have known about them when i did my ski-doo, i would have definitely used them. Yea i think they would be lighter too. Anyway here are those pics. I remember now what the deal is, i welded three nuts together then onto the rod, this widened the front end 2.5" when done on both sides. had to make the steering shafts longer too. I cut stainless pipe for spacers, because the heim ends were not wide enough. I run slightly negative camber.
Check that purple ghost flame out! my pictures colors are crappp!
If you click on the photos, you can see them better!
