I was wondering how difficult it would be to replace the dash and headlite on a 99 SRX with parts from a 2000-2002. The dual headlight and cheaper windshields would be nice. I think it all bolts on, but what about the wiring harness??

to get it to run properly youd need the wire harness and the 300w ignition system, which means ALOT of work, basicly all the electronics, from the flywheel to the CDI, coils and down are about the only thing that stays the same.

you could swap the dash and only plug in 1 bulb tho.

you can install only the head light, but you will have to install 2 30watt bulbs,it s going to give you the same lighting or a bit better than your 99srx.but the 300w igniton and cdi box ,wire harness.is the best way to go,but expensive :)

Thanx for the replies, not the plug-n-play I was expecting. Maybe I will collect the parts and make that one of next years projects.

Keep in mind if you're gonna swap the ignition, you have to move the pick-up coil on the cases. The later flywheel is smaller so the pick-up needs to move in. You have to machine the case or replace them. If you want the dual headlight you just may want to get a sled that already has it..............

It's not worth that much to me to go thru that. Thanks, that saves me buying a bunch of stuff and being PO'd later when I would of run into that.

you can do it. you need to have your stator rewired. get an atv mag, there are dozens of places that will do it. i talked to stator king about it 5 years ago, sent him a picture of the stator and the sheet from the manual on stator output and such. he said there was enough room to add the power to the stator and the ignition system could handle the extra wattage.

if you use led tail light you wont even need to add the full 65watts.
might have been ricky stator

thats all i know about it. never did have it done, bought a viper
