I AM INTERESTED IN A BIG BORE KIT FOR MY SLED, AN 01 SRX, ANYWAY, DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO GET AHOLD OF SOME OF THE MANUFACTURERS, THE ONLY ONE I HAVE FOUND IS BENDER RACING ONLINE, I WOULD LIKE TO RESEARCH ALL OF THE BRANDS BEFORE I DROP COIN ON ONE, THANKS 8)

NO HELP!

C'MON PEOPLE, I HAVE POSTED 2 DIFFERENT TIMES QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS MATTER AND NO ONE HAS RESPONDED WITH ANY HELP! YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT I'M THE ONLY ONE ON THE BEST YAMAHA WEB-SITE ON THE NET THAT IS INTERESTED IN MAKING SERIOUS HORSEPOWER? I'M SURE THAT'S NOT THE CASE SO LEND A BROTHER A HAND.

no first hand knowledge but one of my buddies had an 02 SRX with Hauck's kit and it was a grenade. Blew more than the neighbors wife.

Call Jeff Simon @ Simon's CPR 1-414-698-6611. He has a killer 780 big bore for the SRX that is 160hp - 170hp depending on what stage you get. Very trail reliable, and puts a hurting on many bigger cc big bores for the SRX.

bender 835

A guy around here blew his bender 835 big bore 3 times. The 3rd time was a week ago. waiting to see if it'll blow again. If you buy from bender or hauck or any big bore at all, I hope you have a fat wallet.

Jeff's/Simons CPR 780 Big Bore beats Benders 835... I've proven this all summer at the asphalt track. I run 10.3's in the 1/4 at 125mph  and the Bender kit ran 10.9/10.8's at 120mph... I am about ready to run this on the ice, and will post results when I get done racing.

Go with Jeff's kit, you will not find a better package out there...

It depends on who is doing the clutching at the drags. That's not to say that the Bender program would not have run just as fast or faster than the 780. I'm not knocking either program, but tuning means alot with these things. Also motors blow up usually because of stupidity or looking for the edge, not because of what it is. No offense.

780 vs. 835

I don't know about your 780,but there is no 780 that can even get close to my 835,there must be something wrong with the ones your talking about.

I think the bender would be better also if clutched right, there are many more variables in racing then just HP. But I would like to see some big bore HP Dyno charts or sheets on the different big bores out there, I have posted this before, come on you guys with big bores post them for us.

I have Haucks 800 with benders pipes and mega-power heads and the thing rocks. Pump gas safe and trail reliable. Put 1000 miles on it last year with ZERO problems. It is now a race sled. It will run with T-cats and machz's in the mod class. And it must be clutched and jetted right to get all the benifits. Hauck's jetting specs are way off. I think because he does'nt want to be liable if it blows so he gives rich jetting specs. And there is alot more power availible. I do plan on having it dynoed but I would have to say it is a honest 165 hp. Not trying to knock others as there is'nt any in this area that I know of to compare to. :D

hauck big bore

I have about 6 tanks of gas through my Hauck big bore. Most gallons burned 1/4 mile at a time. It just ran some great speeds at a radar run this weekend 2nd best in 700 class and first in 800 class. It has been all good. I agree with another post about possible rich jetting as my DSC light comes on far less than when stock. I also think it needs more weight at the clutch as I am turning about 400 RPMS to much. It has been beating anything except a few heavy mods with steel picks or chisels. It has also beat of few of them. For these reasons I have not bothered with the chance of to lean jets. I will be adding weight this week. It also performs great on the trail w/pump gas. I am very happy. I have copied a set of cylinders and am going to do some porting and head work to try to push the limits of pump gas. I may have the Actual Hauck set for sale a little later this month if my modded clones work well. Let me know if interested I might save you a little scratch. I recommend the Hauck kit. It works with my stock pipes too - unlike the bender kit which needs the $1000 Bender pipes.

A friend of mine has one of the first two bender 835 kits and it's strong. We assembled the motor ourselves after bender did their thing and the porting and case work is excellently done. One draw back we found was not enough cooling which made tuning difficult. To cure this, my friend installed heat exchangers on the top of the tunnel. This is a trailable machine, but you'll really need big set of cajones if you plan on using all 200hp and 190lbs-ft torque on the trail.

By the way, the numbers I posted previously are not exact, but within 5 on both hp and torque. The motor was dynoed.
