Somewere in my head my memory tells me that back in 1989 - 1994
GYT sold moddified pistons called "Phazer SX" pistons.
I don not remember what the modified was......
I even know that I have seen a drawing showing how to moddifie the OEM pistons up to "SX" specs....
GYT = Genuine Yamaha Technology
Does someone here know what the so called "SX" pistons was ??
OEM part number ??

The mod envolves cutting a larger notch in the bottom of the piston skirt on the intake side. This allows for more air flow. Not sure how much material is removed for the mod though.

Just read the piston article. DYNOTECH 1990 volume 2 number 2. Pipe shootout #9 includes drawing and dimensions of SX piston.
