I'm thinking of upgrading my '02 Viper to the 16x144x2 track like on the newer Summits. Has anybody put a 16" wide track on a Viper, and were there clearance issues in the tunnel?
From reading other posts on the board, I think I'll need 8 tooth drivers to make room for the 2" paddles and may need to play with gears/clutching after that.
Comments?

you will need the 8 tooth drivers to make the 2 inchers fit, i THINK that there is enough clearance to run a 16" track, but let some of the mountain guys chime in first, they have done it.

you need 8 tooth drivers for a 2 inch, but here's a link to a pic of a friends sled with a 16 inch track...... http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=12520

I run the same size track as B2SO. No clogging problem's yet, we have wet heavy snow here most of the time. There seem's to be less snow build-up. Not as much room for a thick layer to build up at the heat exchanger, so what does stick, melts away easier.
The 136" 16" 1.75" performs similiar to a 144" 15" in deeper snow, but still handle's like a 136" when boondocking.
