I have a 2002 Yamaha Mountain-Max 700 triple and I bought a Boondocker 30HP Nitrous kit. It installed fine, and I jetted up my Carb two main jet sizes. I have tested it at idle and the nos works, rpm's raise, I then drove at partial throttle and tested it a few more times, again works fine with lots of extra rpm's and pull at partial throttle, My problem is when I Accelerate at full throttle like the tuning instructions say, I get no extra speed or power, just a slight increase in RPM, how am I suppose to adjust the fuel mixture if i can't feel any difference in the power, or better yet, what good is it to me if it don't make any more power like it was suppose to???

at full throttle or higher speed you may be in high gear 1:.75, which when you hit for an extra 30hp boost you don't feel because your clutches shift to a lower efficient part of your drive....past 1:1...try gearing sled for a higher top end, change top sprocket one tooth higher maybe two...this way when you give it a shot the power will transfer better.......CP

im not spinning, it takes off great, and if i hit nos, it pulls hard for a couple-3 seconds and the rpms die back down, and it won't pull as hard, like it's getting too rich, but im not sure if it's getting too much nos or too little with the extra fuel it gets.....

is that type of button the one you have to keep holding to get the nitrous to keep flowing.....i think it is , so if you only hold it for 3 secs thats it , try holding it on longer.... did you try calling the company?

I LOVE NITROUS, CARS AND SLEDS

YOU HAVE A FEW POSSIBLE PROBLEMS. WHAT TYPE OF ACTIVATION SYSTEM DO YOU HAVE? WHERE IS THE BOTTLE LOCATED? HOW MANY RPM INCREASE DO YOU GET AT FULL THROTTLE? GIVE ME SOME MORE SPECIFICS AND I CAN PROBABLY HELP YOU FIGURE THIS OUT.

MM, what did you find out with your problem...was the purchase worth the new power you gained? how is it hitting the happy button?...just wondering ...CP

I have a boondocker dry system with the bottle close to the RH footwell area, not much heat there, Im getting a 400 rpm increase when I hit the button but then it dies down so I let the button go again, the rpm's almost drop back the full 400 rpm i gained and i can feel it not working proper, think Im losing pressure?

NITROUS

THE BEAUTY OF THAT SYSTEM IS THAT ONCE YOU GET THE BLEED OFF JET RIGHT, IT WILL ALWAYS BE A SAFE OPERATION BECAUSE THE BOTTLE PRESSURE DICTATES THE NITROUS FLOW WHICH ALSO INCREASES THE PRESSURE ON THE CARB BOWLS WHICH RICHENS THE FUEL MIXTURE. YOUR PROBLEM IS PROBABLY THIS, AS THE NITROUS IS RELEASED FROM THE BOTTLE IT COOLS IT CONSIDERABLY WHICH ALSO LOWERS THE PRESSURE THUS LOWERING THE HP. TRY THIS, BEFORE YOU GO OUT AND USE IT, WARM THE BOTTLE UP IN THE HOUSE OVER NIGHT THEN START UP THE SLED AND GET IT FULLY WARMED UP SO YOU CAN THEN INSTALL THE BOTTLE AND GO HOSE IT RIGHT AWAY. YOU SHOULD SEE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN HOW LONG IT TAKES BEFORE IT SLOW UP. LET US KNOW.

Thanks, this makes sense, I was talking to boondockers and they said to install a set of hand warmers from canadian tire, Havn't found them online though.......Anyone know where to get a proper warmer with thermostats??

CONTACT NITROUS OXIDE SYSTEMS, NOS, THEY HAVE AN EXCELLENT BOTTLE WARMER, YOU SHOULD INSTALL A GUAGE TO MONITOR PRESSURE THOUGH, THE OTHER THING YOU COULD DO IS INSTALL A HOBBES PRESSURE SWITCH AND AN IDIOT LIGHT SO IT COMES ON WHEN THE DESIRED PRE-SET PRESSURE IS MET. THIS WOULD BE LO-KEY
AND INEXPENSIVE BY COMPARISON TO A GUAGE. :P TO LOCATE NOS'S PHONE NUMBER USE GOOGLE SEARCH, IT MAY COME UP AS HOLLEY PERFORMANCE, AS THEY ARE NOW OWNED BY THEM.GOOD LUCK! ANY OTHER NITROUS INQUIRIES LET ME KNOW. :!: 8)
