94 vmax600 compression

Bump of an old thread....
So how do I do a compression test? Should both spark plugs be removed, and the compression tester in one cyl at a time I assume? Should one plug remain in the sled while the other cyl is being tested? Should the engine be warm or cold when doing the test?

Thanks,
Zack

I do it plugs out, cold engine, kill switch on, one cylinder at a time, and about 5 good pulls.

So the pull starter is the best way as opposed to using the electric starter?

Thanks,
Zack

I believe you meant to say ''kill switch off''.

I guess, semantics I suppose. Is it in the "off" position for motor to run or the "on" position for motor to run. I would think kill switch on would mean it's activated and prevent the motor from running. In any case push the button down to test compression. Not sure about electric start, never had a sled with that luxury.

Lol, I guess is the glass malf empty or half full?? I never really thought about it any other way. Makes sense either way.
