Ok i have an 02 Viper and my self diagnosis indicator light keeps flashing. It says in the owners manual that there is a pattern to see what the problem is. The light will flash three times, then stop and then flash three times and continues. I need to know what this means so I can fix it. I checked all the lead couplers and the electrical circuit and it still has the same pattern. What is the problem here guys, i need some help...

I'm going from memory here, but that might be the temp sensor. Check the connection and wires going into the temp sensor. Remember, I am probably way off here though.

ya need to know the length of pulses
it goes by how long the flash sequence is and then starts again, looking at the 2002 tech update manual, there are codes with 3 flashes, but all have differnt times of length.
The 2 codes I see for you to check is the varible thumb warmer switch(on dash next to grip switch), and the water temp sensor, but the water temp uses 3 flashes .05 seconds each followed by a pause and then 1 flash, then repat to 3 flashes quickly.

there is more than .5 seconds in between the flashes as well, the length of the 3 flashes id say is more than 2 seconds total.

thumb switch
the thumb warmer switch is 4.5 second long sequence, .75 seconds in between the flashes, the flash length is 2.5 seconds long, does this desciribe the flashes? I think this is where I would start looking at what you have described below.
You can hook up a digital voltmeter and put the probes on the switch, turn it up and down with sled running and see if it varies the voltage or not on the wires going to the thumb warmer itself. Most likely need to have the scale set on 20 to see the voltage that low I would think.

heres what to look for
Does the thumb warmer get hot when the sled runs? well most likely a bad reostat switch or the thumb warmer pad itself, I posted below to show you how to check switch(reostat) with digital voltmeter, check the wires going to the thumb pad and see if any are worn thru, broken, etc. Keep an eye open for chaffed wires up around the steering stem support, your gonna most likely have to take out the bolts holding theplastic dash, to get at the wiring, the wiring sometimes rubs thru where its tied to the steering support.
