I want to do the update to change the track angle and have found a skid from an 01 mountain max i can buy for less than $200. Is this a good idea or is it easier to just get a kit from Hartman or Mt. Perf. ? I am pretty savvy about mechanics but have never worked on a sled before except to perform the airbox, headgasket, and silencer mods found in the tech section. Any input?
Does anyone know if I will need a tunnel extension to go from 136 to 141?

You need a tunnel extension to go to a 141 & also take a close look at how the skid mounts in a 00.
01 mm skid
If the skid is not abused I would spend the $200.00 if it is complete. It is well worth the price and effort to change the track angle. Night & day difference.

Definately go for the 01 Mountain Max skid, they work much better than a converted W-arm skid. Just make sure you get all the suspension mounting point measurements.
Also do you already have a 141" track, if not you would be better off to go to a 144", better choice of tracks. Just get some rail extensions for that 141" skid.
